Reporting
We issue reports to parents three times a year. In addition to outlining pupils’ progress in national curriculum levels or GCSE grades, we include attitudinal grades that denote their commitment to their learning.
We use the information generated via the reporting system to monitor our pupils’ progress and to identify those pupils who are underperforming. We then consider how best to support them to achieve their potential. We consider parents’ help to be vital in such circumstances.
Target-setting
In line with Government policy, we set targets for our pupils based on their performance in KS2 and KS3 tests. These are included in their reports.
However, we also set targets for individual pupils across all of their subjects: cross-curricular targets. We do this annually on our Annual Review Day. The pupils, his or her parents and the form tutor meet to discuss progress and to consider focuses to improve performance across all subject areas. Form tutors and subject teachers review these targets with pupils through the course of the year.
